As with previous releases, EduCase provides a unified and easy-to-use framework for delivering IMRT cases for clinics and universities sites of all kinds. To support the changing nature of the Internet and emerging Web technologies, EduCase required substantial restructuring of its core functionality and we also used this effort to simplify many challenges within the current user interface. EduCase has many new features.

The goals for the EduCase web site release are to:

  • Substantially improve usability, manageability, and scalability far beyond the original EduCase web site.

  • Expand accessibility to support internationalization, double-byte characters and Right-to-Left support for Arabic, Farsi, and Hebrew languages for example amongst others.

  • Extend the DICOM integration capabilities from external treatment planning systems through Web Services and remote authentication to provide an interoperable web-based contouring and communication tool.

  • Enhance the DICOM presentation capabilities to support accessibility standards and content delivery to any destination.

The goals for the EduCase Contouring Tool release are to:

  • Increase online/offline performance, user capabilities, and feature enhancements.

  • Provide new architectural enhancements to meet the needs of the Radiation Oncology field by providing an innovative resource for Clinical Trials, Residency Training Programs, IMRT events/conventions and continuing our efforts in supplying the global community with a Case Archive to contribute to.

  • Upgraded Adobe Flex (3.0) and Adobe AIR technology to provide a desktop application with new features is our goal and we are committed to listening to our user community to integrate requested tools.

  • Release a DICOM case training platform for the Radiation Oncology field. Many new features are scheduled for release in mid 2009 to supply all facets in Education.
